Syracuse (5-4, 1-0 ACC) will face former Big East foe Georgetown (5-5) inside the JMA Wireless Dome on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 1:00 p.m.
SETTING THE STAGE
The Orange look to extend their current two-game win streak after defeating Oakland, 95-66, at home. The game was secured over the last five minutes of the first frame, as a commanding 18-0 run put the Golden Grizzlies to bed.
The Hoyas bested Siena, 75-68, on Wednesday night. Georgetown led by as many as nine points throughout the back half of play to lock in the victory.
SYRACUSE-GEORGETOWN SERIES
The gathering on Saturday afternoon marks the 98th meeting between the two squads. Syracuse holds a slight 52-45 advantage in the all-time series, which extends back to the 1929-30 season. Last year, the Hoyas emerged with a 79-75 victory against the Orange.
LAST TIME OUT
The senior duo of center Jesse Edwards and guard Joseph Girard III each logged 18 points against Oakland. Edwards connected all his marks with a stellar nine-for-nine performance from field-goal range. Senior guard Symir Torrence and freshman forward Maliq Brown both rounded out the double-digit scoring with 12 points each.
ORANGE LEADERS
Edwards (15.1 ppg) is one of three Orange currently averaging double-digits and the lone man on the roster averaging a double-double (11.4 rpg). Girard is logging 14.7 points per contest and freshman guard Judah Mintz is contributing 13.9 ppg.
