DiGirolamo is CHA Defenseman of the Month

For the fourth time this season graduate student Jessica DiGirolamo is the College Hockey America Defenseman of the Month. The Mississauga, Ontario native helped lead Syracuse to the CHA regular season and tournament championships. She had three assists and blocked nine shots in the two Orange CHA Tournament wins and earned CHA All-Tournament Team honors for the third time in her career. DiGirolamo had two assists in the CHA semifinal game against RIT and assisted on the game-winning goal in overtime in the Championship game against Mercyhurst.

DiGirolamo's February statistics included four points (one goal and three assists), 28 shots and 23 blocks in six games. Her goal was on a power play in Syracuse's 2-1 win at Penn State in February. During Syracuse's last 12 games, she has had a goal or an assist in eight contests. The Orange are 9-1-2 during that stretch. She has 62 career assists, which is second in Syracuse history, and 95 points, which ranks sixth on the Orange all-time list.

DiGirolamo earned the CHA Defenseman of the Year Award and All-CHA First Team honors for the second year in a row. It was the third All-CHA Team honor as she earned All-Rookie honors in 2017-18.

Syracuse will play in the NCAA Tournament for the second time in its 14-year history. The 2022 NCAA Tournament selection show is Sunday, March 6th (9 pm, ESPN News).
