ORANGE ENTRIES
Action gets underway on Friday at 1:15 p.m., when Kahniya James and Kaleia Arrington open up the action in the women's 60-meter dash preliminary round. Sean Tucker and Trei Thorogood will be next up in the men's event at 1:40.
Thorogood won his event last time out at Cornell, but takes a step up in competition this weekend, as squads from UCLA, South Carolina, BYU, Maryland and others are entered in this weekend's meet.
The Orange will race DMR squads this weekend as well. At 2 p.m., Annie Boos, Eunice Boateng, Sage Brooks and Abigail Spiers will represent the SU women. Fifteen minutes later, Noah Beveridge, James Nmah, Joey Eovaldi and Nathan Henderson will race for the men.
Henderson is coming off breaking the four-minute mark in the mile last week in Boston.
The hurdles start at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, with Shaleah Colaire, CJ Fox and Kirstyn Schecter are racing for the women, followed by the deepest Orange field of the weekend at 2:45 p.m. for the men. Jaheem Hayles, Isaiah Lewis, Anthony Vazquez, Naseem Smith and Xayvion Perkins are all running.
Action continues on Saturday, with a lighter field for 'Cuse.
Alexander Segarra opens things up at 10:36 a.m. in the 800, followed by Kennedy Tarley, Jana Riley and Natalya Rodney in the 400. Perkins will double up on the weekend and run in the men's 400 right after the women race.
Eunice Boateng, Colaire, James and Arrington are all set to compete in the 200-meter dash on Saturday afternoon, as are Thorogood and Nmah on the men's side.
High jump competition will also take place on Saturday, with Olivia Etienvre competing in the afternoon.
Olivia Joly, Savannah Roark and Kevin Robertson conclude the day for the Orange in the mile.
LAST TIME OUT
Syracuse is looking to build off a strong weekend last time out. In addition to a pair of SU men breaking the four-minute mile barrier (Joe Dragon and Nathan Henderson) in Boston, JP Trojan turned in one of the top-30 times nationally in the 5k.
The Orange also sent a large contingent of runners to Cornell, where seven members of the team won their respective events.
