
Boos Reaches Podium in Steeplechase Final

Annie Boos set a new PR in the 3000-meter steeplechase final, earning her place on the podium on night two of the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Her time of 9:56.28 was good for third overall in a fast race that saw every top-10 finsher post their best time of the season to date. Notre Dame's Olivia Markezich led wire-to-wire with a facility record time of 9:45.31, but Boos was one-of-three to go sub-10 minutes in the field, racking up the first points of the weekend for 'Cuse.
Jaheem Hayles tied his personal best mark in the 110-meter hurdles to punch his ticket to Saturday's final in the event. He won his heat easily in 13.57 seconds, which was the second-fastest time in the heats. Anthony Vaquez missed joining him by one place and 0.01 seconds, finishing ninth in 14.36 seconds. Isaiah Lewis had a new PR in 14.39 seconds, which was 11th. David Peters also PRed in 14.52 seconds, taking 13th, while Naseem Smith finished 15th.
Shaleah Colaire missed out on advancing to Saturday's final by 0.001 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles. She turned in a season-best time of 13.73 seconds, but finished ninth.
Kahniya James posted a new career best time as well. She took 12th in the 100-meter dash in 11.57 seconds. Trei Thorogood finished the men's race in 10.69 seconds.
Kevin Robertson finished 17th in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:57.46.
The event concludes on Saturday from Durham.
