The Orange are all over at Premier Lacrosse League training camp this week, as fourteen former Orange players and one current assistant coach are getting the 2022 season started in training camp.
Training camp runs through this week at the University at Albany, with the season beginning on Saturday in games televised on ESPN and ESPN+.
The current rosters feature 13 former Orange players, assistant coach TD Ierlan and former middie Steven Brooks as the assistant coach of the Atlas.
While six of the eight rosters have some Syracuse representation, Orange fans are likely pulling for the Cannons this season, with a total of five players on their active roster. Led by Stephen Rehfuss, who was one of the most impactful rookies last season, he's teamed up with former teammates Nate Solomon, Brendan Bomberry, Jamie Trimboli and Drake Porter for the upcoming season.
The Chaos and Atlas are also loaded with Orange, as each team has three players on its training camp roster. The Chaos took Brett Kennedy with the No. 6 overall pick this draft, where he'll join Tommy Palasek and Bradley Voigt. The Atlas also have a new draftee, with Brendan Curry selected in the second round. They then signed Jakob Phaup as a free agent and have last year's draft selection Peter Dearth still on the roster with Brooks coaching on the sideline.
The two-time champion Whipsnakes have Matt Abbott leading their defensive midfield, while Randy Staats returns from injury last season to the Chrome attack unit.
Ierlan, the Orange's volunteer assistant and one of the top faceoff men in the league, returns to the Redwoods.
Action begins at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday on ESPN+ with the Whipsnakes vs. the Chaos.
