
Aviles to Represent Puerto Rico in U21 World Championships

Syracuse SSDM Brandon Aviles will represent Puerto Rico at the FIL U21 World Championships in Limerick, Ireland from Aug. 10-20.
The Orange standout will be joined by teammate Owen Hiltz (Canada) among the nations that have released their final rosters.
Aviles, who was named a freshman All-American in 2020, is one of the top short-stick defensive midfielders in the ACC. This past season as a third-year sophomore, Aviles scored three goals, had an assists, caused nine turnovers and picked up 32 ground balls. He was in the Orange's primary SSDM rotation and was often used as a wing on the faceoff unit.
The Setauket, N.Y. native heads into his fourth season with the Orange in 2022.
