
Syracuse Men's Soccer To Face Villanova In Second Exhibition

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse will play its second home exhibition match on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 5 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium against former BIG EAST foe Villanova. The match is open to the public and admission is free.

The Orange opened preseason play last Saturday with a 6-0 win against Marist. Six different players scored goals, and 'Cuse registered 15 shots on goal. Freshman Andrea DiBlasio scored his first goal in a Syracuse jersey, while fellow newcomer Antonino Pagano recorded his first assist.

Villanova finished the 2021 season with a 12-8-1 record and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats opened tournament play with a 1-0 victory over Vermont but lost in the following round to Notre Dame, 3-0.

Following tomorrow's exhibition, Syracuse will play its third and final exhibition on Saturday against St. Francis. The match kicks off at 7 p.m. The regular season begins on Thursday, August 25 with a home contest against Iona.Â
