Levonte Johnson Named To Hermann Watch List

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse senior forward Levonte Johnson was named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List on Thursday. The Hermann Trophy is awarded annually to the national player of the year by the Missouri Athletic Club, representing one of the highest individual honors in collegiate soccer.
Johnson is one of just 38 student-athletes to make the Hermann Watch List. He is joined by three other ACC student-athletes. Johnson was also named to the United Soccer Coaches' Forwards to Watch list earlier in the month.
The senior from Brampton, Ontario joins the Orange for 2022 after a season at Seattle U in 2021. Johnson led the Redhawks in goals and assists last season with nine and eight, respectively. He was third in points in the Western Athletic Conference with 26.
The Orange kick off the 2022 season on Thursday, Aug. 25 against Iona at the SU Soccer Stadium. The match is slated to start at 5 p.m. 'Cuse then play its second match with another home contest on Sunday, Aug. 28 against Penn State at 6 p.m. Admission to both games is free.
