- Syracuse hosts Columbia on Sunday for the 2022 home opener, taking on the Lions at 1 p.m. at J.S. Coyne Stadium.
- Last weekend, Syracuse filled the net, scoring 11 combined goals in two games, putting up five on Friday against Sacred Heart and another six on Saturday versus Vermont.
Filling the Net
- Last weekend, Syracuse combined for 11 goals, striking five times in the second half against Sacred Heart before pouring in another six on Saturday against Vermont.
- With its potent offense, the Orange have scored at least 10 goals across the first two games of the season in back-to-back campaigns.
- Â It marks the first time under head coach Ange Bradley that the Orange have opened back-to-back seasons with at least 10 combined goals in the first two games.
- Six times since the 2007 season, the Orange have netted double-digit goals in the first two games, with a highwater mark of 17 coming in Bradley's second season at Syracuse, 2008.
- Even through just two games, this edition of the Orange has out-scored some Syracuse teams with three games completed. The high mark through three in Bradley's tenure is 25, set during the 2008 season.
- Through the first weekend of the season, Syracuse is tied for first in Division I with a 5.50 goals per game average, ranked first alongside 2021 NCAA runner-up Liberty.
Hats Off!
- Newcomer Joy Haarman got her Orange career started with a bang, putting away three goals in Saturday's 6-0 win over Vermont.
- Haarman is the first Syracuse player with a hat trick since Pleun Lammers managed the feat on Aug. 27, 2021 against Sacred Heart.
- In one 33 minute stretch of a game, Haarman herself has outscored 22 NCAA Division I teams, 17 of which have also played at least two games.

Syracuse Home Openers
- They say they're no place like home and that's very true for Syracuse field hockey.
- Under the guidance of head coach Ange Bradley, the Orange hold an unblemished 15-0 in the first home game of the season.
- This effort is made more impressive through the Fall 2020 season, when, in the midst of uncertainty, the Orange didn't play a home game until Oct. 30 against Louisville, a 2-1 Syracuse victory.
- That season, the Orange had three previous would-be home openers canceled or postponed.
- Under Bradley, the Orange are 112-21 all-time at home, winning 84.2 percent of the time at J.S. Coyne Stadium.
