Syracuse (10-6, 3-2) welcomes Virginia Tech (11-5, 1-4) inside the JMA Wireless Dome on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 7:00 p.m.

SETTING THE STAGE
The Orange return home as winners of seven of their last nine contests. Syracuse lost its most recent outing, a 73-66 decision at #11 Virginia on Saturday. The Hokies are looking to snap a four-game losing skid and earn their first conference victory in over a month. Virginia Tech's lone ACC triumph was an 80-72 upset against No. 18 North Carolina on Dec. 4, 2022.

SYRACUSE-VIRGINIA TECH SERIES
Wednesday marks the 18th pairing between the two squads. Syracuse holds an 11-6 advantage in the all-time series versus Virginia Tech, which spans back to the 1975-76 season. The Orange's most recent victory against the Hokies was a 78-60 triumph on Jan. 23, 2021.

LAST TIME OUT
Syracuse lost 73-66 to 11th-ranked UVA squad on Jan. 7. The Orange trailed by 23 in the second half but rallied to within seven points before the Cavaliers closed out the contest.

Joseph Girard III (19 points) finished his ninth consecutive game in double figures. Freshman guard Judah Mintz added 18 points and forward Maliq Brown had 10 points and eight boards off the bench.

ORANGE LEADERS
With 16.8 points per contest, Girard is the front-runner for the Orange. Mintz (15.9 ppg) is averaging a squad-best 4.1 assists per game. Senior center Jesse Edwards averages a double-double composed of 13.3 points per matchup and a squad-best 10.9 rebounds per game.

SCOUTING THE HOKIES
Sophomore guard Sean Pedulla leads the Hokies with 17.3 points per game and a 4.3 assist average. Senior forward Justin Mutts leads on the glass with 8.2 boards per game.

'CUSE FANS CAN VOTE FOR GIRARD
Senior Joseph Girard III is one of 20 players named to the 2023 Jerry West Award watch list, which is annually presented to the top shooting guard in Division I college basketball. Orange fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting for each of the three rounds. The list will be narrowed down to 10 in January, five in February, and the five finalists will be presented to Jerry West and the Hall of Fame's selection committee where a winner will be selected in March. MCNAMARA AND WARRICK JERSEY RETIREMENT
Twenty years after playing a major role in Syracuse's first NCAA Basketball Championship, Gerry McNamara '06 and Hakim Warrick '05 will have their Orange jerseys hoisted to the Dome rafters. The jersey retirements will take place on Sunday, March 4 when Syracuse hosts Wake Forest at 5:00 p.m. in the JMA Wireless Dome.

20TH ANNIVERSARY OF '03 CHAMPIONSHIP
Syracuse University Athletics will celebrate the 20^th Anniversary of the men's basketball program's 2003 NCAA Championship throughout the 2022-23 season, culminating with a reunion at the March 4 contest with Wake Forest. Members of the 2002-03 national title team have been invited to return to Syracuse for planned activities the weekend of March 3-5, 2023. The Orange are scheduled to host Wake Forest on Saturday, March 4, in the final regular-season contest of the campaign. Those from the 2002-03 squad who can return, will be recognized at the game.
