
Syracuse to Host Clemson and #11 Georgia Tech

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University volleyball team will be returning home to host Clemson (12-10, 3-7 ACC) and #11 Georgia Tech (17-3, 8-2 ACC). The Orange will take on the Tigers on Friday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. and the Yellow Jackets on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. Fans can follow along with both matches through live stats and can watch Sunday's match live on ACCNX.
'Cuse is on an 11-game winning streak against Clemson, a streak beginning on Sept. 27, 2015. The Orange lead the series, 13-3. In both of the Orange's most recent wins versus Clemson, they have swept the Tigers. Both teams are looking to break losing streaks, Clemson losing its last three matches. The Tigers are coming off a three-set loss to Duke last Sunday.
The Orange are set for their 15th meeting with the #11 Yellowjackets. Syracuse first met Georgia Tech on Oct. 13, 1989, sweeping them to start the series. The series record now stands with Georgia Tech in the lead, 8-6. The Yellowjackets are hoping to extend their two-game winning streak, defeating Duke and North Carolina in home games last weekend.
Last time out, Syracuse lost to Miami and Florida State on the road. Freshman found success across the court for the Orange, with Veronica Sierzant hitting a team-high .429 percentage vs. Miami, collecting seven kills on 14 attacks and leading the team with 14 assists. Zharia Harris-Waddy served five total aces vs. Florida State, including three consecutive in the second set, racking up a third match this season with at least five aces. Mira Ledermueller had two service aces vs. Miami and led the team with 19 assists vs. Florida State.
Friday night's match against Clemson will be Staff Appreciation Night, so staff are encouraged to show up, cheer loud and win some fun prizes! Sunday's match will be a Halloween-themed event complete with a costume contest, so show up in your best costume!
After this weekend, the Orange will be traveling to Massachusetts to compete in a midweek match at Boston College on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. Fans can tune in live by watching on ACCNX or following live stats.
