Orange Picked Ninth in Preseason Poll
Fifth year guard Dyaisha Fair is one of 10 players on the Preseason All-ACC Team, announced Thursday by the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Orange, under second-year head coach Felisha Legette-Jack, were picked to finish ninth in the ACC in the Blue Ribbon Pannel Preseason Women's Basketball Poll.Â
Fair was an All-ACC First Team and All-Defensive Team selection during her first year in orange. She earned WBCA All-America honorable mention during the 2022-23 season while leading the Orange to a WNIT Super 16 appearance. Fair averaged 19.9 points per game last season and was second in the ACC in scoring while recording double figures in all 33 games.
She enters her final season second on the active scoring leaders list among NCAA Division I women's basketball players with 2,691 points behind only Iowa's Caitlin Clark (2,717).Â
The Orange finished 9-9 in the ACC in Legette-Jack's first season at the helm. She became the first coach in program history to lead the Orange to the postseason in their first season and guided SU to its first 20-win season since the 2018-19 season.
Defending ACC Tournament Champion Virginia Tech was picked to win the ACC title after reaching last year's Final Four. The Hokies' Elizabeth Kitley was selected as ACC Preseason Player of the Year.Â
