Syracuse lost, 83-81, at #20 Maryland (2-2) for its first loss of the season on Sunday afternoon. The Orange were led by junior Georgia Woolley who made her season debut with a 21-point effort.Â

HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
Maryland stormed back with an 8-0 run to take a one-point lead 61-60 late in the third quarter. Syracuse recovered and led by one entering the final frame. The two teams exchanged the lead throughout the fourth quarter, Maryland led by as many as six but the Orange never were out of rreach.Â

After a pivotal possession change with 10.1 seconds left in regulation, the Orange were unable to get a shot off before the final buzzer resulting in the two-point loss.Â

THE RETURN OF WOOLLEY
Georgia Woolley made her season debut with 21 points. Eleven of her points were scored in the first half. The Brisbane, Australia, native shot 7-for-16 from the field and was a perfect 5-for-5 at the free throw line.
