Syracuse (4-2) returns to its home court for the first time in two weeks to face LSU (4-2) in the ACC/SEC Challenge in the JMA Wireless Dome on November 28 at 7 p.m.

SETTING THE STAGE
The Orange are coming off their fourth trip to the Maui Invitational. Syracuse closed out the tournament with a win against Chaminade, 105-56. Sophomore guard Justin Taylor achieved his first career double-double in the outing with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Tigers are on a three-game winning streak after defeating North Texas, Wake Forest and North Florida. In the squad's most recent win against North Florida, Will Baker scored a team-high 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

THE SYRACUSE-LSU SERIES
Syracuse and LSU will meet on the hardwood for the second time in program history. The only previous matchup between the Orange and the Tigers was on February 16, 1985, where #8 Syracuse bested LSU, 76-64.

Seven Orange performers scored 10 or more points in the win against Chaminade: Chris Bell (18 points), Justin Taylor (14), Kyle Cuffe Jr. (13), Naheem McLeod (13), J.J. Starling (12), Maliq Brown (12) and Quadir Copeland (10). The squad scored 52 first-half points, while holding the Silverswords to 18 in the opening 20 minutes.

Sophomore guard Judah Mintz paces the Orange offense, averaging 18.3 points per game. Copeland and Taylor share the squad lead in rebound average (6.0). Starling (12.7 ppg.) and Bell (13.7 ppg.) are the other performers on the squad averaging double-digit scoring.

Syracuse has a 29-22 record all-time against all 14 SEC opponents. The Orange have the best record in SEC competitions against Missouri at 5-1. The most common SEC opponent is Kentucky, who leads Syracuse in the series, 8-3.

Mintz is one of 20 watch-list candidates for the 2024 Bob Cousy Award, which is annually presented to the top point guard in Division I men's basketball. Orange followers are encouraged to participate in three rounds of Fan Voting, presented by Dell Technologies, on hoophallawards.com.

Mintz is also on the watch list for the Naismith Trophy and John R. Wooden Award. Each list in comprised of 50 student-athletes. The lists for each award will be narrowed throughout the year, and winners of the awards will be announced later in the season.
