Five Named to All-ACC Teams

Sophomore LeQuint Allen Jr. leads a group of five members of the Orange who earned a spot on the All-ACC Teams announced on Tuesday, Nov. 28. Allen was voted to the All-ACC Second Team as a running back and earned honorable mention honors as an all-purpose player.

Junior linebacker Marlowe Wax joined Allen on the All-ACC Second Team. Redshirt sophomore punter Jack Stonehouse was voted to the All-ACC Third Team, while redshirt senior offensive lineman Chris Bleich and junior safety Justin Barron earned honorable mention accolades.

Allen has rushed for a career-high 1,062 yards on 225 carries in 2023. It marks the 19th time a Syracuse running back has surpassed 1,000 yards rushing in a season. He ranks third in the ACC in rushing. Allen has scored a team-high 10 total touchdowns, nine of which have come on the ground. He has also recorded a team-best 36 receptions and has returned three punts for 82 yards.

Wax leads the team with a career-high 101 tackles. His 5.4 tackles per game ranks 13th in the nation and third in the ACC. Wax has forced a team-best four fumbles this season. That total leads the ACC, ranks seventh nationally and ties for fourth on Syracuse's single-season record list. He has recorded 35.5 tackles for loss in his career, which ranks seventh on the Orange's career leader list, while his eight career forced fumbles tie for second in the 'Cuse record book.

Stonehouse ranks ninth in the nation and second in the ACC, averaging 46.5 yards per punt. He is on pace to set the single-season school record for punting average, which is currently held by Nolan Cooney (44.78 in 2020). Stonehouse has 18 punts that have traveled 50+ yards and he has pinned the opponent inside the 20-yard line 15 times.

Bleich has anchored the offensive line for the Orange this season, starting all 12 games.He has helped Syracuse average 185.0 rushing yards per game and paved the way for Allen to rush for the 12th-highest single-season total in program history. He was twice named ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week this season.

Barron ranks second on the team and 13th in the ACC in tackles with 83. He leads the Orange with seven pass breakups and is second with three forced fumbles. Barron has recorded 10+ tackles twice this season, including a career-high 13 at North Carolina. Barron currently ranks 15th in program history in tackles by a defensive back.
