Second-team All-ACC linebacker and Syracuse's leading tackler for the second year in a row, Marlowe Wax has announced he'll return for a fifth year with the Orange in 2024.
He finished this season with a team-best 110 tackles and 11.5 tackles for loss. He also notched four sacks, an interception and forced four fumbles. Wax will look to become the first 'Cuse player to lead the team in tackles in three-straight seasons in 35 years.
A team captain this season, Wax will enter next season seventh on the program's career tackles for loss ledger (36.6), 12th in sacks (16.5), second in forced fumbles (8) and 19th in tackles (294).
Wax was the third key Orange player to declare their return for next season in as many days. Preseason All-American tight end Oronde Gadsden and All-ACC defensive back Justin Barron made commitments for next season earlier this week.This comes on the heels of the Orange signing its highest ranked recruiting class in modern history under head coach Fran Brown.
