
Kocevski, Leibold Invited to 2023 adidas MLS College Showcase

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Senior Jeorgio Kocevski and junior Giona Leibold are amongst the 44 invitees for the 2023 adidas MLS College Showcase, which will take place Dec. 6-9 in Phoenix, Ariz.

The four-day event will give technical staffs from every MLS club an opportunity to scout top collegiate prospects in the nation ahead of MLS SuperDraft 2024, presented by adidas, which will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 19 and feature an expanded player pool.

Kocevski scored one goal and recorded 12 assists in 20 matches for Syracuse this season, earning All-ACC First Team honors and the program's first ACC Midfielder of the Year award. Kocevski's 12 assists are the most by a senior in program history and the third-most in a single season. The Liverpool, N.Y., native played 1,673 total minutes and the full time in eight matches. Kocevski was also No. 25 in the Top Drawer Soccer (TDS) Top 100 Midseason Rankings. The midfielder has appeared in 71 collegiate contests, making 65 starts to go along with seven goals and 32 points.

Leibold was limited to seven appearances and five starts in 2023 due to injury, playing in 454 total minutes. The midfielder recorded an assist in the first two games of the campaign while totaling multiple shot attempts in three contests. The Wiesbaden, Germany, native scored five goals and registered two assists in 22 matches in 2022. Leibold has five goals and 19 points in his collegiate career that spans 43 appearances and 38 starts.

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is well represented at the showcase, with 10 of the 44 invitees coming from conference institutions.
