
Kocevski Earns USC All-Region Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Jeorgio Kocevski is a member of the 2023 United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-South Region First Team, the organization announced on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Kocevski is recognized by the United Soccer Coaches for the second consecutive season, garnering 2022 All-South Region Third Team distinction during the team's national championship campaign.

Kocevski scored one goal and recorded 12 assists in 20 matches for Syracuse this season, earning All-ACC First Team honors and the program's first ACC Midfielder of the Year award. Kocevski's 12 assists are the most by a senior in program history and the third-most in a single season. The senior played 1,673 total minutes and the full time in eight matches. Kocevski was also No. 25 in the Top Drawer Soccer (TDS) Top 100 Midseason Rankings. The midfielder has appeared in 71 collegiate contests, making 65 starts to go along with seven goals and 32 points.

The Liverpool, N.Y., native is the 25th player in program history to earn USC First Team recognition. Former Orange Levonte Johnson and Nathan Opoku were named to the first team in 2022. Syracuse has back-to-back seasons of honorees for the first time since 2014-16. Alex Bono and Emil Ekblom (2014), Julian Buescher and Ben Polk (2015) and Miles Robinson (2016), received the accolade. The Orange have 23 All-Region selections under head coach Ian McIntyre.

Kocevski and teammate Giona Leibold are set to take part in the 2023 adidas MLS College Showcase Dec. 6-9 in Phoenix, Ariz.
