Freshman guard Judah Mintz tallied a team-high 23 points but Syracuse (16-14, 9-10) dropped its fourth game in a row on Tuesday night, losing to Georgia Tech (13-17, 5-14), 96-76, inside the JMA Wireless Dome.Â
Â
Mintz, who scored in double digits for the 11th consecutive contest, contributed a squad-best seven assists. Senior center Jesse Edwards added 18 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks while senior guard Joseph Girard III and sophomore forward Benny Williams chipped in 11 points each.
Â
HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
Georgia Tech came out of the halftime locker room firing on all cylinders, connecting on four 3-pointers as part of a 16-4 scoring run. Four different Yellow Jackets put points on the board, but Lance Terry paved the way with nine points on 3-of-3 shooting from deep. With 16 minutes remaining in the contest, GT held a 69-46 advantage over SU, eventually handing the Orange its fourth straight loss.
