
Orange Host First Round of WNIT on Wednesday

For the first time since 2019 the Syracuse women's basketball team will host a postseason game at the Dome. The Orange (18-12) earned the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC)automatic bid to the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) marking the fifth time Syracuse has earned the right to play in the WNIT in program history. 'Cuse hosts Kent State (21-10) in the first round on Wednesday, March 15 at 7 p.m.
Syracuse is 11-4 all-time in the WNIT and last played in the tournament in 2012 when the Orange made a run to the semifinals where they lost to James Madison, 74-71.
The Orange have now made the postseason 18 times in program history including 12 NCAA Tournaments, five WNITs and one AIAW Tournament in 1981.
Syracuse is 14-3 at home this season, the most home wins since the Orange went 17-2 at home in 2010-11 season. The Orange are 5-5 in their last 10 games including home wins over #14 North Carolina and Miami, two ACC opponents in the NCAA Tournament. Syracuse is seventh in average attendance in the ACC this season, averaging 2,503 fans per game, behind ACC Tournament Champion Virginia Tech with 2,933 per game. Louisville leads the ACC attendance with 8,779 fans per game.
