Kozyreva Secures Lone Win In 6-1 Orange Loss To NC State

No. 28 Syracuse tennis fell, 6-1, to No. 7 NC State at the JW Isenhour Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C. on Friday afternoon.

The Wolfpack (15-2, 7-1 ACC) collected the doubles point after taking down Viktoriya Kanapatskaya / Shiori Ito, 6-3, as the Orange forfeited the third flight.

NC State captured five of the six singles pairings. The lone win for the Orange (11-6, 4-6) came in the fourth singles flight, as Polina Kozyreva defeated nationally ranked Gina Dittman (NC State), 6-4, 6-4. The victory marked Kozyreva's 14th of the season, and her campaign record now sits at 14-3.

Syracuse will be back in action on Sunday at Wake Forest. The first serve is scheduled to start at noon.Â
