Orange offensive lineman Dakota Davis can add National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society member to his impressive list of collegiate achievements.
The 2022 Campbell Trophy Semifinalist, who wrapped up his eligibility in the Pinstripe Bowl this season, qualified for the honor society by being a graduating player who completed his final year of eligibility, has an undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or better and been a starter or significant contributor this season.
"We are thrilled to honor another impressive group of athletes as part of this year's Hampshire Honor Society," said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell. "Over the last 17 years, the Hampshire Honor Society has served as a powerful vehicle for schools to recognize their college football players who have distinguished themselves both academically and athletically, and we congratulate the schools and each of these young men for their commitment to excellence in all aspects of their lives."
In addition to being a key player on the Orange's offensive line, Davis is enrolled in the MBA program in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. A five-time member of the ACC Honor Roll, Davis has been named to Syracuse's Athletic Director's Honor Roll in each of the last eight semesters.
He appeared In 52 games with 37 starts on the offensive line in his career, playing both guard and tackle in his tenure. This season, he started all-13 games and according to Pro Football Focus, was responsible for just one sack allowed in 451 pass blocking snaps.
Davis' Campbell Trophy Semifinalist honor, nicknamed the academic Heisman, is an award presented annually to the college football player that best combines academics, leadership and on-field performance.
