‘Cuse Listed in Top 20 Polls

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – After suffering a setback to conclude the 2023 regular season for the Syracuse University men's lacrosse team, the Orange remain listed among the top 20 teams in both major polls.
In the USILA Coaches, Syracuse (8-7) was tied for 20th in the week 12 polls, collecting 51 points to pull even with Saint Joseph's. Duke was first with 451 points and 17 first-place nods while Virginia was close behind with 441 points and the final six first-place votes. Notre Dame was third with 418 points, followed by Penn State (379) and Johns Hopkins (366).
The Week 12 Inside Lacrosse Media Poll had the 'Cuse at 18th, garnering 74 points. Duke was first in the poll with 375 points and 16 of the 19 first-place votes. Virginia was second with 362 points and the remaining top selections. Notre Dame was slotted third with 346 points. Johns Hopkins (311) and Penn State (308) rounded out the top five.
Eight 2023 opponents were listed in the penultimate Coaches Poll: No. 1 Duke, No. 2 Virginia, No. 3 Notre Dame, No. 5 Johns Hopkins, No. 7 Maryland, No. 16 Princeton, while North Carolina and Vermont each received votes.
