The Syracuse cross country and track and field programs capped off their successful season by finishing in the top-20 of the USTFCCCA Program of the Year standings for both the men's and women's teams.
The Orange are 1-of-11 schools in the nation to have scored in all-six NCAA Championship competitions, across men's and women's cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field. Only two other private schools accomplished that feat this year, with BYU and Stanford being the others.
The USTFCCCA Program of the Year Award honors the institution that has achieved the most success in each academic year (spanning the cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field seasons) based on the institution's finish at the NCAA Championships.
The 'Cuse men took 13th in the final standings, having collected a 12th-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, and led by Jaheem Hayles' First Team All-America finish in the 60 and 110-meter hurdles at the two track championships, scored there as well.
The SU women were 19th in the final standings. They finished 23rd at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, led by the first All-America finish for a Syracuse woman since 2017 by Savannah Roark. Amanda Vestri then carried the torch to be a First Team All-American at both track championships to keep 'Cuse in the scoring.
This is the first time 'Cuse has scored at every NCAA Championships event since 2017-18, marking one of the most successful recent seasons for the programs. The team will also see five of the 18 athletes who qualified for last month's NCAA Preliminary exhaust their eligibility.
