Both the men's and women's cross country teams are ranked in the USTFCCCA Preseason Poll after posting their best finish in a half decade at last year's NCAA Championships.
The 'Cuse men start the year just outside the top-10, garnering 198 points, which puts them at 11th to start the year, three points behind No. 10 Virginia. The ACC is once again loaded, boasting four of the top-11 programs in the preseason, six ranked squads and eight of the league's 15 teams receiving votes to start the year.
The SU women are 30th in the preseason poll after finishing 23rd a year ago in the final rankings. The ACC boasts six ranked squads on the women's side as well.
The Orange men were picked as the preseason favorite in the Northeast Region, while the women occupy the fourth slot in the regional rankings at the start of the season.
Action gets underway on Saturday morning at the Harry Lang Invitational.
