Syracuse begins a stretch of five consecutive road games when it plays at UMass on Thursday, August 31, at 4:00 p.m.
THE SYRACUSE-UMASSSERIES:
The Orange have three wins and one tie in four prior matches with the Minutemen.The first meeting, on September 4, 1999, ended in a 2-2, double-overtime tie. Since that contest, Syracuse has won three straight. The Orange squared off with UMass most recently on August 21, 2015 and came away with a 6-0 triumph.
SYRACUSE STATUS:
Syracuse improved to 2-2-0 after defeating Binghamton on Sunday, 2-1. Ashley Rauch and Kendyl Lauher each scored their first goals of the season. It was the initial collegiate tally for Lauher.
Shea Vanderbosch has handled all the goalkeeping duties this season. She has a 1.00 goals-against-average and .840 save percentage.
UMASS STATUS:Â
UMass beat Stony Brook (2-1), tied Vanderbilt (0-0) and UMass-Lowell (2-2), and lost on Sunday at Yale (2-1). Ashley Lamond owns a squad-leading two goals, while Grace Pinkus and Nia Hislop have each contributed a goal and an assist.Â
Bella Mendoza has played in all for games for UMass. She has posted a 1.64 goals-against average and a .737 save percentage.

- The Atlantic Coast Conference is all over the August 29 United Soccer Coaches Poll with two of the top five teams and seven schools overall included.
- Syracuse is beginning a run of five consecutive road tilts. After starting with the UMass encounter, the Orange play at Cornell (Sept. 3), at Harvard (Sept. 7), at Fairfield (Sept. 10, and at Miami (Sept. 15).
- The next Orange appearance at the SU Soccer Stadium is Sept. 21 against second-ranked Florida State.
