
Volleyball Travels to Cornell for Mid-Week Matchup

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University volleyball team is set for a road matchup against Cornell (1-2) on Wednesday, September 6 at 7 p.m. The match will have live stats available and will be streamed on ESPN+.

'Cuse (0-6) has an extended history facing Cornell, dating back to the first meeting on Sept. 2, 1972, where the Orange won 3-0. Syracuse is 33-9-1 all-time against Cornell. This will be the first meeting since 'Cuse defeated Cornell in four sets on Sept. 21, 2014.

Cornell started the season with a win against Niagara at the Bucknell Tournament. In the Ivy League preseason poll, Cornell was picked to finish sixth ahead of Columbia and Penn. The Big Red finished the 2022 season 6-17 overall and 4-10 in Ivy League play.

At the Kathy DeBoer Invitational this past weekend, graduate Alyssa Bert was selected to the All-Tournament Team. She finished the weekend with an impressive eight service aces, having at least two in each of the team's three matches. She tied her career-high and achieved a season-high of four service aces in the match against Delaware State. She contributed two assists in each match from the weekend, as well as a total of 37 digs from the contests.

Wednesday's matchup will be the only contest of the week for 'Cuse, who will return to the court Sept. 12 at Colgate at 7 p.m.
