The Syracuse men competed at a pair of meets on Friday, with the Orange women getting into the mix in Boston on Saturday.
At the Bob Pollock Invitational at Clemson, Jaheem Hayles posted a season-best time of 7.73 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles. He was fifth overall, but the top collegiate competitor.
Trei Thorogood ran the fifth-fastest time in the prelims of the 60-meter dash (6.75 seconds), but due to his heat draw, didn't advance to the finals. He was the fastest person not to qualify for the finals on time and was also faster than four of the heat winners that advanced.
