Quarterback Kyle McCord is on the Davey O'Brien Award Great 8 for week six.

McCord completed the third-most passes in Syracuse history (40) in Friday's road win over then No. 25 UNLV. He threw for 355 yards and three touchdowns in the win. He also ran for 22 yards, a new career high.

The Great 8 is a weekly selection of the eight top-performing QBs by the Davey O'Brien Award, which honors the nation's top quarterback annually. McCord has been selected three times through the first six weeks of the season. The Davey O'Brien Award National Quarterback of the Week will be selected on Tuesday from the Great 8 List.

McCord already has the 10th-most touchdown passes in a season in school history (17). Even more impressive, his total ranks 15th all-time at 'Cuse, despite the fact that he's only five games in to his SU career.

McCord and the Orange return to the road for the second-straight week on Saturday, traveling to NC State. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. on ACCN.
