No. 8 Miami comes to the JMA Wireless Dome for the first time since 2002 when Syracuse hosts the Hurricanes in the 2024 regular-season finale on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. on ESPN.Â
It's the first time since 1992 (also Miami) that two teams will enter the Dome for a football game having already each secured an 8+ win regular season. Orange Nation is needed in full force to get the Loud House rockin' on Saturday. Tickets are available at Cuse.com/Tickets. Plus, a number of (pre) Black Friday specials are being run this week with discounted ticket offerings. The Thanksgiving Wegmans Bundle offers fans a $10 Wegmans gift card for their holiday shopping with the purchase of a ticket. Lower bowl (100-level) tickets are also available at 35-percent off. There are also ticket bundle packages available: Fans can get tickets to both Saturday's game vs. Miami and Georgetown men's basketball game (Dec. 14) for a $40 discount as part of the Marquee Matchup 2-Game Bundle.Â
Â
"It's a real good football game," Orange head coach Fran Brown said. "It's a football game with two good football teams. Two good records. You haven't had this this late in November in a while. And it's a good deal to have it right after Thanksgiving that you have two good teams in one of the better conferences in the country getting the opportunity to play. I'm excited about it. I think two of the best quarterbacks in the country are about to go out and compete. So, us having the opportunity to go against Miami when Syracuse has a really good quarterback and Miami has a really good quarterback – there's a lot of things that match up the same. It will be pretty cool when you're watching this game."
Â
Those two quarterbacks are Kyle McCord for the Orange and Cam Ward for the Hurricanes. They rank 1-2 in the nation in passing yards as McCord has passed for a single-season school record 3,946, while Ward has 3,774. Ward is second nationally in total offense (359.2 ypg.), while McCord is third (354.7 ypg.). Ward's 34 touchdown passes lead the country, while McCord is seventh with 26. Both defenses rank in the top three in the ACC in passing yards allowed, adding more intrigue to the matchup.
Â
Syracuse is coming off a 31-24 win against UConn, which improved its record to 8-3. It marks the first time the Orange have had eight regular-season wins since 2018 and just the third time since 2000 (2001, 2018). While Saturday's game is the first top-10 opponent for Syracuse this season, Brown wants his team to use the same mentality it has used all year.
Â
"We just have to continue to have fun together, play with each other – just really do it with our seniors, those guys that really helped change the program and flip it around to be where we're supposed to be," Brown said. "We just want to go out there and play freely, just lay it all on the line. Just enjoy playing against a ranked opponent at home for their last game. I know it will be extremely exciting. I heard Miami is going to come deep. I know everybody from Camden (is) coming. And I know Syracuse is already deep. So, it's going to be fun. It's going to be intense in the stands, it's going to be intense on the football field. So, it will be a good atmosphere. I think this is a game everyone wants to see."
Â
'Cuse fans have only seen the Orange face the Hurricanes once since joining the ACC – a 2017 contest in Miami. The schools met every year from 1992-2003 when both were members of The BIG EAST Conference. For the sixth-straight meeting, the Orange will face a nationally-ranked Miami squad.
Â
A win on Saturday would improve Syracuse's November record to 4-1, which would be the first time Syracuse has won four games in the month since 1997. A victory would also be the 'Cuse's first against a top-10 team since 2017 against Clemson.
