Three Syracuse standouts have been named to the East-West Shrine Bowl All-Century team, which is playing its 100th iteration this season.
John Mackey, Larry Csonka and Art Monk are among list. All three went on to Pro Football Hall of Fame careers after their time at Syracuse and participating in the annual all-star game.
Fans can vote on their favorite members of the All-Century Team, with the top-25 being recognized in the leadup to game day. To vote, visit the East-West Shrine Bowl website.
Mackey, one of the sport's greatest tight ends who has the national collegiate tight end of the year award named after him, starred at Syracuse in the early 60s before going on to a 10-year professional career. He was a Super Bowl V Champion, five time Pro-Bowl selection and member of the NFL 50th and 100th anniversary teams.
Csonka played at Syracuse from 1965-67 before being taken eighth overall by the Miami Dolphins. His 12-year professional career included a pair of Super Bowl victories (VII and VIII) and a Super Bowl MVP. He also was a five-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time First Team All-Pro honoree.
Monk played for the Orange from 1976-79, before being selected 18th overall in the 1980 NFL Draft. He spent 16 seasons in the NFL, winning three Super Bowls (XCII, XXII, XXVI) and was a three-time Pro Bowl selection. He was enshrined in Canton in 2008.
The Orange will be heavily represented at this year's Shrine Bowl. Kyle McCord, Oronde Gadsden, Fadil Diggs and Alijah Clark have already accepted invitations to this year's game. Â
