Syracuse and Washington State square off on Friday at 8 p.m. (5 p.m. PST) in the DIRECTV Holiday Bowl. Here's five things to know ahead of the game:
1. Tickets Available at Cuse.com/Bowl
Fans looking to purchase tickets to the DIRECTV Holiday Bowl can visit Cuse.com/Bowl.
The site also features fan events for game day.
2. McCord Eyeing All-Time ACC Record
Quarterback Kyle McCord needs just 267 yards to break the ACC's single-season passing record. DeShaun Watson is the current record holder with 4,593 yards in 2016 – which he set in 15 games. McCord currently ranks fifth, and would pass Brennan Armstrong (4,449), Philip Rivers (4,491) and Matt Ryan (4,507) in the process if he's able to capture the record.
3. Bowl 29 for the Orange
Friday's game will be the 29th all-time bowl appearance for Syracuse, which owns a 16-11-1 mark in their previous 28 bowls. The Orange have won four of their last-six bowl appearances, but are looking to snap a two-game bowl losing skid.
'Cuse is 1-of-41 teams that has reached a bowl in each of the last-three seasons.
4. Double-Digits
A win on Friday would give Syracuse a 10-win season for just the third time this century. The 2018 and 2001 teams also accomplished the feat.
5. Climbing the Charts
Syracuse is the only school in the nation with four players with 60+ receptions on the season. Trebor Pena (79), Jackson Meeks (73), Oronde Gadsden (69) and LeQuint Allen (61). Pena (fifth), Meeks (sixth), Gadsden (eighth) are already in the top-10 for single-season receptions. Allen needs five to finish the year inside the top-10 and would give the Orange four of the top-10 single-season receptions leaders.
