Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord has been named one of 10 finalists for the Manning Award, an award created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that takes the candidates' bowl performances into consideration in its balloting with the winner being announced after the College Football Playoff National Championship in January.
McCord finished the 2024 regular season slate as the nation's leading passer and school record holder for yards (4,326), completions (367) and touchdown passes (29). The Mount Laurel, New Jersey native passed for at least 300 yards in all but one of 'Cuse's 12 contests this campaign, including a season-high 470 yards in the team's win over UConn on Nov. 23.
Throughout his statistically strong season, McCord led Syracuse to its highest win total since 2018 with nine, including three AP Top 25 victories, something the Orange have not done since the 1998 campaign.
McCord is one of two ACC quarterbacks named to the 10-player finalist list, joining Miami's Cam Ward, whom he faced in Syracuse's 42-38 upset of the No. 8 Hurricanes on Saturday, Nov. 30. The ACC has produced four Manning Award winners all-time: Deshaun Watson (twice), Matt Ryan, and Jameis Winston.
Syracuse finished the regular season with a 9-3 record and will find out its bowl selection on Sunday.

Carson Beck, Sr., Georgia
