
Three Earn ACC Postgraduate Scholar Honors

Syracuse seniors Tatum White, Aysia Cobb and Reilly Eagan are 2023-24 Atlantic Coast Conference Postgraduate Scholars recognizing their performance in the classroom and in their sport. White earned the Jim and Pat Thacker scholarship, while Eagan earned the Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford scholarship and Cobb is an ACC Excellence Award winner.Â

The Orange ice hockey team captain, White is majoring in medicinal chemistry. She earned 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors for her outstanding performance in the classroom and on the ice. The Kingston, Ontario native is a three-time American Hockey Coaches Association All-America Scholar and a three-time College Hockey America (CHA) All-Academic selection. White, a forward who served as an alternate captain in 2022-23, ranked eighth nationally in faceoff wins this season, and had 20 points on six goals and 14 assists. She has 54 career points (18 goals and 36 assists). The Orange won the CHA regular season and postseason titles and earned an invitation to the NCAA Tournament during White's sophomore season. A three-time Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll selection, White participates in bioengineering research at Syracuse. She served as the 2022-23 Syracuse Student-Athlete Advisory Inclusion Committee chair. Since 2019 White has managed and led youth hockey camps in her hometown.

An environmental geoscience major and four-year soccer student-athlete, Cobb is a three-time ACC Academic Honor Roll selection and a member of the Syracuse Athletics Director's Honor Roll every semester at Syracuse. The Plantation, Fla. native played forward in 34 games for the Orange, averaging 60.3 minutes per match. Cobb, who has been on the Syracuse Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for three years, is the co-chair of the community service committee this year.

A two-time team captain for rowing team, Eagan is majoring in accounting. Syracuse has competed in the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championship Regatta during his first three seasons. Last year Eagan raced in the third varsity eight that posted a top-10 finish. Eagan, who serves as co-chair of the SAAC Equity Committee, is the team's lead organizer for Syracuse Men's Rowing/Syracuse Police Activity League (PAL) Learn to Row sessions. In November 2022, he helped organize the SAAC Turkey Giveaway in Buffalo. Eagan is a member of the Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Fraternity.

The Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford and Jim and Pat Thacker postgraduate scholarships are awarded to selected student-athletes who intend to pursue a graduate degree after completing their undergraduate requirements. Â The ACC Excellence Award list is for those who intend to pursue professional careers in their chosen sports or career field of study. Those honored have performed with distinction in both the classroom and their respective sport while demonstrating exemplary conduct in the community and were chosen by a vote of the league's FARs at the ACC Winter Meetings.
