Syracuse (18-10, 9-8 ACC) will host its last home game of the season and hold a pregame ceremony to celebrate senior day against Virginia Tech (15-12, 7-9) on Tuesday, February 27, at 7 p.m. in the JMA Wireless Dome.

SETTING THE STAGE
The Orange have won three of their last four and have averaged 86.0 points over the three victories.

The Hokies have a 1-8 record on the road this season. Virginia Tech has dropped two of its last three games, most recently at Pitt, 79-64, last Saturday.

SENIOR DAY
The Syracuse men's basketball team will honor center Mounir Hima prior to the contest on Tuesday.

THE SYRACUSE-VIRGINIA TECH SERIES
Tuesday marks the 20^th meeting between Syracuse and Virginia Tech. The Orange own a 12-7 advantage in the all-time series. Last season, the squads split the home-and-home series, each team winning as the hosts. The most recent matchup was at Virginia Tech on Jan. 21, 2021, which the Hokies won, 85-70. Syracuse stood victorious, 82-72, in the preceding meeting on Jan. 11, 2023.

LAST TIME OUT
All five Orange starters scored in double-figures in a win against Notre Dame, led by sophomore guard Judah Mintz with 21 points. The other four players in double figures were sophomores: forward Chris Bell (18 points), center Maliq Brown (14), guard J.J. Starling (14) and forward Justin Taylor (10). Syracuse went 20-of-33 (.606) from the field in the first half and led by 20 points at the intermission.

ORANGE LEADERS
Mintz stands at fifth in the ACC in points per game with 18.2 per affair. He ranks in the top 10 in Division I for free throws attempted (fifth, 237) and made (ninth, 181) this season. He surpassed Johnny Flynn for the fifth most free throws made in one season in Syracuse history.

The other Orange performers averaging double-digit scoring this season are Starling (13.7 ppg.) and Bell (12.0 ppg.). Brown and Copeland each average 9.3 points per outing this season. Brown leads the squad with 6.8 rebounds per contest.

Syracuse paces the ACC in steal average with 9.4 per contest. Brown (2.21) ranks first in the conference in steals per game, followed by Mintz (2.14) at second place and Copeland (1.54) in ninth.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Junior guard Sean Pedulla leads the Hokies in scoring average with 15.6 per game. He ranks third in the ACC in assists per outing with 4.4. Graduate guard Hunter Cattoor (13.7 ppg.) and senior center Lynn Kidd (12.8) are the other Virginia Tech performers averaging double-figure scoring this season. Kidd is atop the squad in rebound average with 6.4 per affair.

Virginia Tech ranks fourth in the nation and second in the ACC in free throw percentage (.797). Cattoor and Kidd rank third and fourth in the conference, respectively, in free throw percentage. Cattoor is 78-of-87 (.897) from the line this season and Kidd has made 71-of-81 (.877).
