Orange Lose At Wake Forest

Syracuse (14-8, 5-6) had four players score in double-figures, but could not overcome Wake Forest (14-7, 6-4) as the Orange lost, 99-70, in the LJVM Coliseum on Saturday night.
The four Syracuse performers who contributed double-digits scoring were sophomore backcourt pair J.J. Starling (15 points) and Judah Mintz (13), and sophomore forwards Quadir Copeland (11) and Justin Taylor (10).
The Demon Deacons converted 19-of-28 (.679) from the field, including seven-of-10 (.700) from beyond the arc, in the second half. Overall, Wake Forest went 35-of-53 (.660) in field goal attempts and made 12-of-19 from 3-point range.
The Demon Deacons' top two season scorers, junior guard Hunter Sallis and sophomore guard Kevin Miller, produced 24 and 21 points, respectively.
WHEN THE GAME WAS DECIDED
Syracuse had a 20-15 deficit with 8:08 remaining in the first half before the Demon Deacons produced 10 unanswered points to take their first double-digit lead. The Orange went without a field goal for just over four minutes during the Wake Forest run. The home team's advantage hovered between 12 and 16 points for the remainder of the first half and controlled a double-digit lead for the entirety of the second half.
DEMON DEACONS HOLD LEAD IN SECOND HALF
Wake Forest came into the second half with a 14-point advantage. The home team made nine-of-11 field goal attempts in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Justin Taylor scored 10 of Syracuse's 16 points during the 10-minute span. For a five-minute duration from 6:33 to 1:33 in the second half, Wake Forest converted six-of-nine from the field. The Demon Deacons led by as many as 33 points with four minutes remaining.
