For the second time this season, Syracuse has earned ACC Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors in the name of fifth-year guard Dyaisha Fair. Fair was previously named ACC Player of the Week on Jan. 22. It's the third time this season the Orange have earned ACC accolades as freshman forward Alyssa Latham earned Freshman of the Week honors on Dec. 4.Â
Fair averaged 33.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game over a 1-1 week for the Orange on the road. The 5-foot-5-inch guard moved to 6th all-time on the NCAA Division I women's basketball scoring list with a 28-point performance at #16 Louisville on Thursday. Fair played all 40 minutes against the Cardinals and shot 43.5 percent from the field (10-for-23) and made four 3-pointers with four assists.Â
Against Boston College, Fair came alive in the second half scoring 25 of her 38 points in the final 20 minutes, lifting Syracuse to a 75-62 road win against the Eagles. Fair's 38 points marked her best offensive performance of her Syracuse career, falling one point shy of tying her career-best. Fair shot 52 percent from the field against BC knocking down 13-of-25 attempts, including a 5-for-11 night from three-point range. She was a perfect 7-for-7 at the free throw line and added two assists and a steal.Â
Over the last five games, Fair is averaging 25.8 ppg and is shooting 41 percent from the field. She has tallied three or more 3-pointers in all 11 ACC games she has played in and is shooting 87.3 percent from the charity stripe in games SU has won this season.Â
Fair shares the weekly honor as a Co-Player of the Week with Virginia Tech's Elizabeth Kitley.Â
The Orange return to action on Thursday night for a Pink Out as the Orange host Georgia Tech at 7 p.m. on ACCNX. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and join 'Cuse in the fight against breast cancer.Â
