
NFL Combine Gets Underway for Johnson

The NFL Combine kicks ramps up on Friday for Syracuse defensive back Isaiah Johnson.
Television coverage of the event begins at 3 p.m. on NFL Network for the on-field drills portion of the events. Johnson has been in Indianapolis all week, where he and his position group have already gone through orientation, medical/ortho examinations, team interviews, media interviews and NFLPA meetings.
Friday will be where Johnson gets to showcase his skills, beginning with measurements and then moving to the televised on-field portion. The event culminates on Saturday for him with the bench press.

Johnson, who already participated in the East-West Shine Game for scouts this offseason, was a team captain for the Orange this season. He was a was a two-year starter at cornerback for the Orange after joining the program as a graduate transfer from Dartmouth. He appeared in 45 games across both institutions, amassing 188 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 14 pass breakups and three interceptions collegiately.
This past season, he was fifth on the team with 62 tackles, adding an interception, forced fumble and six pass breakups. He graded out as the team's second-best defender according to Pro Football Focus.
The NFL Combine runs through Sunday, March 3. Syracuse will host its Pro Day in mid-March prior to the start of spring ball, before the NFL Draft takes place April 25-27.
