
Polls Setup Top Five Showdown

No. 5/6 Syracuse and No. 3/4 Duke Meet Wednesday Night
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – With the major polls out for men's lacrosse, the voters have set up a top-five battle as Syracuse University moved up in two polls and held steady in another.
Then sixth-ranked Syracuse (7-2) picked off another top-20 opponent last week with a 14-6 win over No. 20 Delaware. This week, the USILA Coaches Poll elevated the Orange to number five with 339 points, tying for fifth with Denver. Syracuse remained ranked sixth in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll with 316 points while also moving up one spot to ninth in the USA Lacrosse Division I Top 20.
Army West Point remained atop the USILA Coaches Poll with 454 points, including 18 first-place nods. Notre Dame was second with 428 points and three first-place votes, with Wednesday's opponent, Duke (8-1) holding at number three with 407 points and the remaining two first-place votes. Other 2024 opponents mentioned in the Coaches Poll this week include: No. 4 Virginia, No. 8 Maryland, No. 11 Cornell, No. 13 Johns Hopkins, No. 16 North Carolina, No. 20 Colgate, with Delaware, Utah, and High Point all receiving votes this week.
The top four of the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll remained the same this week, with all four on the 2024 slate: No. 1 Army West Point, No. 2 Notre Dame, No. 3 Virginia and No. 4 Duke. Additional opponents include: No. 7 Maryland, No. 11 Johns Hopkins, No. 12 Cornell, No. 15 North Carolina, No. 20 Colgate, alongside Delaware in the receiving votes column.
