Earlier this spring, Syracuse University partnered with The Seeker to allow football players the opportunity to get additional pass-catching work and improve their skills.
The Seeker, developed by Monarc, is touted as the world's "first robotic quarterback" and will allow players to utilize the technology on their own without the aid of another player throwing them footballs. It can also be used for punt and kickoff returners as well.
"Last October, our football staff approached us about partnering with Monarc and it was something we immediately looked into," said Senior Deputy Athletics Director Herman Frazier. "We're continually looking for cutting-edge technology that can improve our student-athletes skills and when the football staff came to us with Monarc, it was a partnership that we thought would enhance the program."
Monarc's robotic quarterback is an intelligent training partner which emulates every type of game-like pass, kick or punt anywhere on the field. It uses a Pulse Tracking System that enables athletes to train by themselves.
The machine features a touchscreen interface and the Seeker allows players and coaches to easily draw out and save the plays they want to practice. The Seeker streamlines practice by allowing players to save route trees and any drill directly into the machine.
