
Tyrrell Earns National Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse graduate student Emma Tyrrell is this week's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Offensive Player of the Week after leading the No. 3 Orange to victory against No. 6 Yale in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.

Tyrrell recorded a career-high nine points in Syracuse's 19-9 win against the Bulldogs. Her seven goals tied her personal best and matched the mark for the most goals in an NCAA Tournament game by a member of the Orange. She had three goals and two assists during the Syracuse's 9-2 scoring run to start the game. After Yale cut the deficit to four at 10-6, Tyrrell scored back-to-back goals to help the Orange pull away for the win.

The Mt. Sinai, New York native leads Syracuse in points (91) and goals (70). Her 70 goals rank eighth on Syracuse's single-season record. Tyrrell has a team-high 12 goals in this year's NCAA Tournament.

The Orange (16-5) take on No. 2 Boston College (18-3) in the national semifinals on Friday, May 24 at 5:30 p.m. The game will air on ESPNU.
