The Syracuse football team is back in the Loud House this weekend after opening the Fran Brown era with a victory over Ohio. ACC play will begin on Saturday when Georgia Tech visits the Dome.
1. First Ranked Game of the Season
Georgia Tech (2-0) visits the Loud House ranked No. 23 in this week's AP Poll. Both squads are in the receiving votes category of the Coaches Poll.
The Orange are 4-6 vs. ranked ACC squads in the JMA Wireless Dome over their last 10 matchups, defeating ranked squads at home in each of the 2022, 2018, 2017 and 2016 during that span.

2. Dwight Freeney Back in the Loud House
Legendary pass rusher Dwight Freeney will be back in the Dome on Saturday to have his jersey retirement ceremony at halftime. The Pro and College Football Hall of Famer is also scheduled to take part in the NYE Auto Quad Walk with the team, so be sure to get to 'Cuse on the Quad and the Toyota Fun Zone by 9:45 a.m. on Saturday to take part in that event.
He racked up 34 sacks in his Orange tenure from 1998-2001, becoming one of the greatest defensive ends in college football history in the process. He went on to a lengthy pro career, where he ranks 18th in NFL history with 125.5 career sacks, mostly with the Indianapolis Colts (2002-12) with the Indianapolis Colts. He also played for the San Diego Chargers (2013-14), Arizona Cardinals (2015), Atlanta Falcons (2016), Seattle Seahawks (2017) and Detroit Lions (2017) during his career.
3. McCord's Career Day
Quarterback Kyle McCord lived up to the billing in his Syracuse debut in week 1. The senior signal caller set new career yards in completions (27), yards (354) and touchdowns (4) against Ohio. He was named to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 for his performance.
4. Military Appreciation Day in the Dome

5. Fans' First Chance to See Orange/Yellow Jackets Matchup
While Syracuse and Georgia Tech are in their 12th season as conference foes, due to being in separate divisions for the first 10 years of being in the conference together, Georgia Tech is making just their second trip to the JMA Dome.
However, the lone prior meeting in Syracuse was the 2020 home opener, in which fans were not permitted due to the COVID Pandemic. 'Cuse and Georgia Tech have met five times prior to Saturday. Two neutral site contests, a pair of games in Atlanta and one matchup in an empty JMA Dome.
