Syracuse's Ashley Rauch tallied her team-leading third goal of the season and the Orange defense held off Binghamton to win, 1-0, at the Bearcat Sports Complex on Thursday night. The Orange improved to 5-1-1 on the year while the Bearcats slid to 1-3-2.
HOW THE GAME WAS WON
Rauch, a junior midfielder teamed with junior Ava Uribe for the game's only tally. With Syracuse attacking the Binghamton end, Uribe secured the ball along the right sideline. She dribbled toward the Bearcat goal and found Rauch, who finished the play in the top of the net at the 30:59 mark.
Uribe's assist was her squad-best third of the season.
VANDERBOSCHÂ BLANKS THE BEARCATS
Junior goalkeeper Shea Vanderbosch posted her third shutout of the campaign and the ninth of her Syracuse career. She was tested after the intermission and made three of her four stops in the second half.
Vanderbosch cut her season goals-against-average to 0.60 in five starts.
NOTABLE NOTES:
Syracuse hosts St. Bonaventure on Sunday, Sept. 8, at 4 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. The Orange will honor 11 seniors in a pre-game ceremony.

- Rauch and redshirt sophomore Maya McDermott led the Orange with four shots each.
- The Orange had a 6-1 advantage in corners.
- Kylen Grant continued her streak of playing the entire game. She's logged a team-leading 630 minutes in 2024.
- Freshman Anna Croyle, graduate student Dalani Stephens and Vanderbosch also played the full 90 minutes for Syracuse.
