Syracuse men's cross country surged five spots to No. 6 in this week's USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll following a third-place finish at the Nuttycombe Invitational.
The Orange were one of three teams with multiple top-20 finishers in Madison, Wisconsin, placing behind only champion New Mexico and No. 5 Colorado in a field featuring 18 nationally ranked programs.
The ranking marks 'Cuse's highest position of the 2025 season and its highest ranking since October 2023 (No. 4). The Orange men have been ranked in every poll since week five of the 2021 campaign and have received votes in every poll since week eight of 2011.
Syracuse looks toward the ACC Championships in 10 days as the second-highest ranked team from the league. Virginia (No. 4) leads a group of seven ranked teams in this week's poll, with No. 12 Wake Forest, No. 16 Notre Dame, No. 23 North Carolina, t-No. 27 Virginia Tech and t-No. 27 Stanford also represented.
Iowa State remains the unanimous No. 1 in this week's ranking.
The 'Cuse women are again receiving votes in this week's poll.
Syracuse will have one final regular-season tuneup at the John Reif Memorial on Friday, before heading to Louisville, Kentucky, for the ACC Championships on Halloween.
