
Field Hockey Ninth in NFHCA Poll

Third-Straight Week at Number Nine
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Syracuse University field hockey holds steady at number nine in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll for a third week in a row. The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) released its week eight poll Tuesday morning.

Syracuse (11-4) added three points from last week to total 134 points in this poll, closing the gap between with No. 8 Duke's 140 points. North Carolina and Northwestern hold onto No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. North Carolina had 217 points with eight first-place votes and Northwestern had 210 points with three first-place votes. The most notable shift was Harvard taking over the No. 3 spot from Virginia. Harvard, the only undefeated team in Division I field hockey, and had 191 votes, while Virginia only trails by two with 189 points.

Six of the Syracuse Opponents were ranked in the top 20 this week, five of which take up half of the top 10 spots: No. 1 North Carolina, No. 4 Virginia, No. 5 Princeton, No. 6 Wake Forest, No. 8 Duke and No. 18 Rutgers.  Â

The ninth-ranked Orange head to Louisville, Kentucky to wrap up the regular season against the Louisville Cardinals. Game time is set for noon at Trager Stadium and will be streamed on ACC Network Extra. The Orange are then set to play in the ACC Tournament in Louisville starting on Tuesday Nov. 4.
