OPENING DRIVE
• Syracuse goes on the road for the second time in its last three games to take on SMU.
• The game will air on ACC Network, with Wes Durham (PxP), Steve Addazio (analyst) and Dana Boyle (reporter) on the call.Â
• Saturday's game marks the Orange's seventh-straight road game in the month of October dating back to the 2023 season.
BROWN BOUNCES BACK
• Syracuse is 4-0  in games following a loss in head coach Fran Brown's tenure.
• In his coaching career, including time as an assistant, Brown has avoided back-to-back losses at any point since the 2021 season at Rutgers.Â
EVERY 'CUSE CLICK COUNTS
• You can catch Saturday's game on ACC Network and the ESPN app.Â
• There are more ways than ever that fans can have a direct financial impact on Syracuse Athletics, one of which is by making sure you watch every game you can't attend. Television ratings now have an impact on revenue distribution in the ACC. Make sure you're always watching the Orange, whether from the Dome or at home, because Every 'Cuse Click Counts.
VILLARI LEADS TIGHT ENDS
• Dan Villari is tied for fifth among tight ends nationally with 22 receptions.
• He now ranks sixth in school history for career receptions by tight end (49).
• Villari is four receptions away from passing Beckett Wales for fifth place on Syracuse's all-time leader list for most catches by a tight end. Wales had 52 receptions from 2010-13.
• Villari posted career highs in receptions (7) and receiving yards (104) in Syracuse's win against UConn. It marked his first 100+ yard receiving game of his career.
SERIES HISTORY
• Syracuse and SMU will meet for just the second time and first time as conference opponents when they take the field on Saturday.
• The Mustangs won the only previous meeting between the schools, 16-6, in Syracuse in 1932.
• After Saturday's game, the Orange will have played every current member of the ACC in a conference matchup.Â
A WIN WOULD …Â
• Give the Orange their third-straight ACC road win dating back to last season.
• Improve 'Cuse to 2-1 in league play. Depending on Saturday's results, no more than seven ACC teams will have two-or-more league wins by the end of this weekend.Â
• Give Syracuse its 768th all-time victory (includes 11 wins from 2004-06 that were vacated by the NCAA). The Orange currently rank 21st on the FBS ledger of winningest programs. Syracuse is one of 37 FBS schools to have accumulated 700+ wins.
