11/16/2025 11:23:00 AM | Cross Country
The Syracuse men's cross country team is headed to the NCAA Cross Country Championships for the 17th year in a row, extending the nation's third-longest active streak.
The men qualified by winning the NCAA Northeast Regional on Friday, to secure an automatic spot. They'll be joined by Selma Anderson for the women's race, who qualified as an individual by finishing in the top-four at Friday's regional race.
The 'Cuse men are currently ranked No. 5 in the nation and have reached the NCAA Championships every year since 2009. Only Colorado and BYU have longer active streaks.
The NCAA Northeast Region Championship extended another streak. The 'Cuse men have won at least one championship (ACC, Northeast Region or NCAA) and/or finished in the top-10 of the NCAA Championships every year since 2009 (excluding the COVID season). 'Cuse has finished inside the top-10 at four of the last-10 championships on the men's side.
The men have continued to be successful at the national meet year over year. During the 17-year streak, Syracuse boasts one team NCAA Championship (2015), one individual national title (Justyn Knight, 2017), 12 top-15, five top-10 and three top-five finishes.
The NCAA Championships will be Saturday, Nov. 22 in Columbia, Missouri. They will be televised on ESPNU.
