Bell Named ACC Coach of the Year

Syracuse cross country coach Brien Bell has been named ACC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year for the third time in the last-seven seasons.
Bell, who led his team to their best finish at the NCAA Championships in a decade, saw the Orange conclude the postseason with a fourth-place, podium finish at the NCAA Championship, NCAA Northeast Region Championship and runner-up finish at the ACC Championship.
A four-time USTFCCCA Northeast Region Coach of the Year, Bell has continued to lead one of the nation's premier cross country programs. The Orange boast the nation's third-longest active streak of NCAA Championship appearances. Additionally, his teams have won at least one championship (ACC, NCAA Northeast Region, NCAA Championship) and/or finished inside the top-10 at the NCAA Championships every year since 2009 (excluding the 2020 COVID season when there was no fall NCAA Championship).
At the NCAA Championship, both Sam Lawler and Peter Walsdorf earned All-America honors by finishing in the top-40.
Bell and the Orange now turn their sights on indoor season, which begins this weekend.
