Leo Earns Two National Weekly Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After pacing No. 2/2 Syracuse University men's lacrosse team to a 24-5 opening weekend win, junior midfielder Michael Leo was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week and was selected to the USILA Division I Team of the Week. The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) made its announcement Tuesday afternoon, as did the United States Intercollgiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).

Leo finished the first game of the year with four goals, all in the first half, including a natural hat trick in less than two minutes during the second quarter. Leo had a hand in nearly half of the Ornge goals in the 20 minutes of the game as Syracuse opened the scoring on a 10-0 run against visiting Jacksonville.

The Seaford, New Yorker posted five points on the day, adding an assist early in the third quarter. Leo was efficient in his shot selection, scoring his four goals on six total shots, putting five of those chances on the cage. He added two ground balls and a caused turnover to his.

Leo and the No. 2/2 Orange return to action on Friday, February 7 against Vermont. Opening faceoff is set for 6 p.m. at the JMA Wireless Dome following the 2025 women's lacrosse season opener against UAlbany.
