Graduate student center Eddie Lampkin Jr. and junior guard J.J. Starling have both been named All-ACC honorable mentions, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Lampkin has registered 14 double-doubles on the season, tied with Jesse Edwards (2022-23) for the most by a Syracuse player since the start of the 2024-25 season. The center is averaging a double-double in ACC play with 12.0 points and 10.8 rebounds per game against conference opponents. His 9.6 rebounds per outing on the season are the second most in the conference.
Against Pittsburgh in January, Lampkin pulled down a career-high 23 rebounds, which tied for the third most in a game by a Syracuse player all-time. Of those 23 boards, 15 came on the defensive glass, the sixth most in a single game by a member of the Orange. Lampkin also set a career high in scoring this season with a 26-point effort against North Carolina in February. His 68 assists were also the third most by a Syracuse player in the regular season, trailing just guards Jaquan Carlos (127) and Starling (70).
Starling was Syracuse's leading scorer during the regular season with 17.5 points per game, which ranked No. 7 in the ACC. Starling, who missed seven games in November and December due to injury, reached double-digit points in 20 of his 24 appearances on the season while reaching the 20-plus point mark on nine occasions. Since returning to the lineup against Florida State in January, Starling has scored double figures in 15 of 18 games while averaging 16.7 points during that span.
In Syracuse's double-overtime triumph against Youngstown State at the Dome, Starling scored a career-high 38 points, the third most by any ACC player in a game this season. The junior was selected to the All-Tournament Team at November's Legends Classic in Brooklyn after scoring 16 and 27 points against Texas and Texas Tech, respectively. Starling's top scoring effort in ACC competition came against Boston College in February, as he tallied 28 points in the triple-overtime victory. The guard is also averaging 2.9 assists in ACC play, trailing just Carlos (3.7) on the Orange.Â
Both Lampkin and Starling eclipsed 1,000 career points this season, with Starling doing so in Syracuse's road victory over California and Lampkin achieving the feat versus Duke at the Dome. The two players have combined to lead the Orange in scoring in 23 of 31 games on the campaign.Â
The Orange are set to compete at the ACC Tournament this week at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte as the No. 14 seed. Syracuse will meet No. 11 seed Florida State in the opening round Tuesday night at 7 p.m. with the game set to air on ACC Network.
